Atom For Os X 10.6
This page is a list of patched kernels for OS X. You are encouraged to add any missing information to help make this list complete! Please only add kernel-CPU combinations you or someone else have tested; don't just add a a CPU or kernel because it exists.
Bottom LineApple continues to perfect its desktop OS with High Sierra. Many of the improvements are under the hood, so the new OS may not look much different, but users will get a more stable, more secure, and more responsive MacOS. Sierra download for mac.
May 30, 2020 Download ATOM for free. I found just one bug in this ROM: When Voice Match is active, the microphone of the wired headphone doesn't work with apps. The Atom is Intel 's smallest chip and has the distinction of being the processor of choice for people building cheap OS X netbooks with limited hackery required. When early builds of 10.6.2. Nov 19, 2009 No bonus points for calling this one, but it looks like Atom support has returned to Mac OS X 10.6.2 - less than two weeks after it was unceremoniously removed to the dismay of. When Apple dropped support for Atom processors in OS X 10.6.2, effectively killing Hackintosh netbooks, we knew that somebody would fix things. We didn’t know that it would happen so fast. Nov 02, 2009 Reports have confirmed that, although the Mac OS X 10.6.2 update isn’t out yet for Snow Leopard, it does kill support for the Intel Atom processor.
Two types of patches exist: binary and source. A binary patch (binpatch) is used when the target CPU is completely compatible with the stock mach_kernel, but its CPUID is not whitelisted (i.e. Intel Atom). Source patches are used for CPUs such as AMD, legacy Intel, or VIA that differ significantly from supported CPUs—these might need instruction set emulators, for example. Certain Apple programs do not work correctly with source patched kernels.[clarify]

InsanelyMac reports that a member of its forums has created a workaround allowing users who have modified their Intel Atom-based netbooks into 'Hackintoshes' in order to run Mac OS X to upgrade to OS X 10.6.2. The 10.6.2 update had specifically disabled native compatibility with those processors.
The changes Apple made to the latest mach_kernel removes support for this processor, leaving updated netbooks in a useless state. Fortunately, insanelymac user 'teateam' patched the new kernel just two days after Apple rolled out the update. The original post can be found here. Many users are reporting success with this patch, so if your an Atom user looking to update to 10.6.2, give it a try, and let's not forget to give 'teateam' a round of applause for saving all our hackintosh netbooks!
The reasons for Apple's disabling of Atom compatibility in 10.6.2 remains unknown, although some of speculated that the company is attempting to make it more difficult for users to create their own netbook Macs ahead of a possible tablet launch next year.
