Changes[edit]
I would agree the original list is a bit much. However a listing of commands is appropriate to the article. I would also suggest adding a link to Microsofts help page for the ipconfig command. I will see if I can find an appropriate link.

- Note that Mac OSX, as recently as 10.3, also has an ifconfig command. I don't have an OSX box handy at the moment, but I bet ipconfig is a symlink to or a wrapper for ifconfig. Coverage of that command is available in ifconfig. MrZaiustalk 05:08, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Update: Apparently both do exist. man 8 ipconfig - man 8 ifconfig. Apple's ipconfig seems to be a somewhat higher level utility, and probably warrants coverage. MrZaiustalk 05:11, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
History[edit]
Which version of Win 9x did this command appear in first? Was it ever present in Win 9x/ME? Could use some clarification on that point. MrZaiustalk 05:08, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Range[edit]
I'm sure this is a stupid question, but it's one I still didn't know the answer to after reading this article, so perhaps it points to a need for more information. At what level do commands like flushdns work? Within my computer, or at the router? (If a whole network is having issues, can entering a command at just one computer fix it?) Oct 03, 2017 My Intuos 3 also suddenly stopped working this weekend. It's weird because it was working just fine for a couple of months after I installed Sierra (macOS 10.12.1). Tried uninstalling all the old drivers, downloaded the same new drivers from Wacom's site (6.3.18-4) and now my system preferences say 'a supported tablet was not found on the system.'
- Just the local box. The router will handle it seperately, if it caches DNS at all, which is rather unlikely. Most routers don't do double duty as DNS servers and those that do, if they're small embedded SoHo routers, have far too little ram and storage space to effecitlyve cache it. ip config or configuration[edit]
I know config stands for configuration, so shouldn't we put that instead of Internet Protocol Config? Anyway, I'm changing it.--Gramy (talk) 21:22, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Bad Reference[edit]
Reference 1 to ipconfig for Windows XP is 404. I cannot find a replacement for that. It would be nice to see a description of the various items listed by a Windows version of ipconfig with the /all option. --DERoss 10:52 13 December 2018 (PST)
