Why do I have problems running Java, after updating to macOS 10.12 (Sierra)?

Dec 10, 2014 Java is a free software currently developed by Oracle Corporation. Apple provided its own implementation of Java for Mac OS X until October, 2012. At that time, the Apple verison of Java 6 was removed during an OS X update, and replaced with the Oracle-supplied version of Java 7. Oct 08, 2019  Java is a general-purpose, secure, robust, object-oriented language developed by Sun Microsystems in 1990. Java is portable which means it follows to write once run anywhere paradigm. The latest version is Java 13 which was released on March 2019. This tutorial helps you to install Java 13 latest or Java 11 LTS on macOS Sierra or High Sierra.

JVM throws NullPointerExceptions on macOS Sierra 10.12

On macOS Sierra 10.12, if a user presses modifier keys (such as Command, Alt, Shift) while an applet is running in a browser, an error box named “Internal Error” might be displayed. It will also show the “exec” icon in the macOS dock. The user can dismiss the applet, or try to rerun the applet while not pressing a modifier key. See JDK-8165867.

Trackpad scrolling of text is very fast

A bug in macOS Sierra has caused scrolling with the trackpad to to be very fast. A workaround is using a mouse, or updating to Java version 8 Update 121 (released January 2017) or later versions.
