- Mar 21, 2008 my mac os x mini was working fine. I decided i would like to investigate ubuntu. So i downloaded the ubuntu live cd iso and burned it onto a disk. Next thing, i go to system preferences in mac os x and change the startup disk to be the ubuntu live cd. Then i restarted my mac. The sytem booted straight into ubuntu via the live cd.

Sep 16, 2010 I've been having some problems with my OS X 10.6 server, specifically file permissions. Some of the files will not stay 'read/write' for group 'workgroup'. I'll go an manually set the file to be read/write, and then it'll be good for a while. Then, for some reason, one of the guys in the office will report that the file is read-only again. I want to disable beep sound in terminal. Im not able to find an option to disable the beep sound in preferences. Could you please help me out?
