Mar 29, 2020 For those uninitiated, Chromium is an open-source project that gave birth to Google Chrome and currently allows anybody to create their web browser build with specific preferences hard-coded in it. The attackers have perpetrated a campaign where they spread a Mac variant of Chromium equipped with add-ons that exhibit adverse functionality. Jun 25, 2020 Chromium v68 won't run on OS 10.9, even if FreeSMUG's site still says 'OS X 10.9 or late'. Other Chromium based browsers (such as Vivaldi) still run on 10.9, just because they're still using Chromium. Chromium is a legitimate open source browser.
