Nokia Photo Transfer For Mac Sierra

Nokia Photo Transfer for Mac just got an update, adding support for DNG file transfer. This comes just before the release of the Nokia Lumia 1520, which is the first smartphone to offer raw file output. The photos in lossless DNG (Digital Negative) file format allow you to adjust several things like white balance, contrast, or shadow and highlight levels on your computer without damaging it too much. People who are passionate about photography will have more flexibility editing the DNG files compared to JPEG files.

According to the change log, this is what’s new in version v1.1.25:

  • Added support for DNG file transfer for supported Lumia devices.
Mac

The Nokia Lumia 1520 will support RAW out of the box, while an update for the Lumia 1020 comes soon after. To get those files into your Mac, open up Nokia Photo Transfer and connect your Nokia Lumia with a USB cable. You can then use photo-editing apps like Aperture or Lightroom to play with the photos.

Nokia Photo Transfer also lets you transfer normal photos and videos, as well as other types of photos and videos taken with SmartShoot, Cinemagraph, Nokia Smart Camera, or Nokia Pro Camera. It is a free download from Nokia’s support page.

Android on Duo

Aug 02, 2013  Nokia Photo Transfer lets you connect your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 with your Mac OS computer, and transfer photos and videos between.

Hands-on with Surface Duo's OS gestures, spanning, app groups, and more

Microsoft's Surface Duo is coming soon, and the company has been working hard on finalizing the version of Android that will be shipping on Surface Duo later this year. Microsoft has released several emulator builds over the last few months, with each one progressing with new changes, bug fixes, and overall polish. Let's go hands-on with the latest build!

NOTE: This doesn’t work anymore, it’s broken in Mojave, I’ve written an updated article here about the fix.

If you plug an Android phone into your computer the Photos app will open like it does with an iPhone, but it may not see the photos on your Android Phone. Create bootable usb flash drive for macos sierra. This happened to me on my Nexus 5X phone and I needed to give the phone permission to share the photos with my computer. It’s the same for any Android phone.

After you plug the Android phone into your Mac, swipe down notifications and there will be a notification telling you that your phone is charging from the computer. Click this notification.

Now select ‘Transfer Photos (PTP)’ to allow your OS X Photos app to upload the photos from your phone.

Select the 4th option – ‘Transfer Photos (PTP)’ to allow OSX to read your photos.

I used this method in my pre High Sierra Mac configuration and it worked well. But now there is no connection – nothing at all happens although I use the exact same method. Maybe a later version of OSHigh Sierra is the problem.
