2010 Macbook Pro Os Support

I recently bought a Macbook from a friend. After I cleared the old accounts off of the computer, I restarted the computer and held down cmd+r. Once the menu pulled up, I followed instructions on resetting it, and it didn't work. Once tried to install OS X, I typed in my Apple ID and password, and then the code that was sent to my phone. It began loading and then an error showed up telling me to try again later. Every time I have tried to do this after, it shows the same thing. I am not sure what to do.
