May 31, 2020 X2Go is an open source remote desktop software for Linux that uses the NX technology protocol. X2Go can be used to access PC desktops, but its main use case is providing secure standalone remote sessions via ssh. The server package must be installed on a Linux host; client packages can be run on Linux, OS X, or Windows. Basic features of X2Go. What works is type vnc://mypc.example.com/ into safari and drag the little icon into a folder in finder. This creates a file named vnc-mypc.example.com.inetloc with some binary content.

My MAC Pro server is very fast, however remote VNC connections to the primary display

screen many times slows to a crawl.

Sometimes moving a windows on the remote VNC display screen or even the 'ls' command

can take upto 15 seconds on remote VNC console display,

where it is instantaneous from the server console display.

One trick is to redirect more CPU cycles to the virtual display server by running a

processor intensive command line program like 'seq 12345678'. (then hit control-c to abort after 5 seconds)

After that the remote VNC display is better but by no means as fast as Microsoft Remote Desktop.

I have attempted to renice the MAC OS built in native VNC server processes, but i have had no luck

so far in isolating the right code.

Dose any one know how to give the native built in VNC server process top priority?
